Pakistan big-hitting batsman Fakhar Zaman has guaranteed that he will “100%” play international cricket again.

Zaman last represented the men in green in the 2024 T20 World Cup and has continued to be overlooked since then.

The 34-year-old attributed his prolonged absence to a “medical condition”, which he earlier revealed to be hyperthyroidism.

Having missed Pakistan’s limited overs series against Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa, Zaman is now targeting a return at the 2025 Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to be held from February 19 to March 9.

“100%, I will play for Pakistan again. After the (2024) T20 World Cup, I fell sick. Due to my medical condition, I wasn’t fit to play, which kept me out of the team,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

While away from the Pakistan team, Zaman has been active in domestic cricket and recently took part in the Champions T20 Cup, where he finished as the third-highest run-scorer with 303 runs in 10 matches for the Markhors, which included two fifties, at an average of 30.30 and a strike-rate of 132.31.

Pakistan just finished playing a two-Test series against the West Indies in Multan, which ended as a 1-1 draw.
