Pakistan limited overs captain Mohammad Rizwan has lavished praise on mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed, calling him “an extraordinary bowler”.

Abrar was only utilised in Tests when he started playing international cricket, but he has slowly started being used more often in the limited overs formats as of late.

During Pakistan’s recent tour of Zimbabwe, the 26-year-old had an impressive campaign as he picked up six wickets in two ODIs at an average of 13.

He then proceeded to take four wickets in two T20Is at an average of 12.25.

Abrar then featured in Pakistan’s tour of South Africa and began by snapping up three wickets in two T20Is at an average of 22.

As for the ODI series, he ended up with four wickets in two games at an average of 20.

Having witnessed Abrar’s amazing progression, Rizwan knows how good the Karachi native is.

“Abrar Ahmed is an extraordinary bowler,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Pakistan are now facing the West Indies in a two-Test series and Abrar finished with five wickets in the 1st Test, which the men in green won by 127 runs.

The 2nd Test will get underway on January 25 in Multan.
