Pakistan opener Sharjeel Khan has backed middle order batsman Kamran Ghulam to score “many more” Test hundreds in the future.

His comments come after Ghulam made quite the impression in his Test debut as he struck a fantastic 118 against England in October 2024.

Since that point in time, the 29-year-old has continued being selected in the Test team and recently played in the two-Test series against South Africa, which the men in green lost 2-0.

Ghulam amassed 98 runs in the series, which included a top score of 54, at an average of 24.50.

Even though the Upper Dir native has yet to score another century since his debut match, Sharjeel knows he is a special player.

“100 on debut Kamran Ghulam, dream start to Test cricket. Many more to come Insha Allah,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Next up for Pakistan will be a two-Test series against the West Indies, which will be held in Karachi and Multan from January 17 to 29.

Pakistan Squad for West Indies Test Series: Shan Masood (captain), Saud Shakeel (vice-captain), Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Imam-ul-Haq, Kamran Ghulam, Kashif Ali, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Noman Ali, Rohail Nazir (wicketkeeper), Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha
