Ex-India spinner Harbhajan Singh has lauded legendary Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Wasim Akram, saying “there’s no one like him”.

Wasim is arguably the greatest-ever speedster Pakistan has produced as he could swing the ball both ways, bowl toe-crushing yorkers and unleash lethal bouncers.

Nicknamed the Sultan of Swing, he represented his country in 104 Tests and took 414 wickets at an average of 23.62.

He is also the second-highest wicket-taker in ODI history as he picked up 502 wickets in 356 matches at an average of 23.52.

“What a bowler he was! There’s no one like him,” Harbhajan was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Pakistan team recently toured Australia and won the ODI series 2-1 before being battered 3-0 in the T20Is.

They then went to Zimbabwe and triumphed 2-1 in both the ODI and T20I series.

Most recently, the men in green were in South Africa and lost the T20I series 2-0 before bouncing back to whitewash the Proteas 3-0 in the ODIs.

As for the two-Test series, Pakistan were beaten 2-0.

Next up for Pakistan will be a two-Test series against the West Indies, which will be played in Karachi and Multan from January 16 to 28.
