Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad has backed batsman Tayyab Tahir to do wonders in the future.

His comments come after Tahir has been utilised more often in limited overs cricket as of late.

During Pakistan’s tour of Zimbabwe, the 31-year-old featured in two ODIs but only batted once, scoring 29 not out.

In the three-match T20I series, he amassed 60 runs at an average of 60.

Pakistan are now in South Africa and Tahir made 24 runs in two T20Is at an average of 12.

As for the ODI series, he struck 28 runs in the one game he played.

With the Gujrat native having shown promising signs so far, Shehzad is confident he will go on to become a big star.

“Tayyab Tahir will do wonders as well in the future,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Pakistan and South Africa were recently involved in a two-Test series, which the Proteas won 2-0.

Next up for Pakistan will be a two-Test series against the West Indies, which will be held in Karachi and Multan from January 16 to 28.
