Pakistan middle order batsman Mohammad Suleman is targeting a spot in the national team as he is in the midst of a strong domestic season.
Suleman has done extremely well in his domestic career, especially in first-class cricket, where he has amassed 1,038 runs in 13 matches, which includes four centuries and five fifties, at an average of 51.90.
In List A cricket, the 25-year-old has scored 393 runs in 14 games, which includes three half-centuries, at an average of 30.23.
As for T20s, the talented batsman from Hyderabad has struck 224 runs in seven matches, which includes two fifties, at an average of 32.
Most recently, Suleman was in action in the Champions T20 Cup, but failed to have much of an impact as he was limited to 56 runs in three games for the Dolphins at an average of 18.66.
Nonetheless, he is very pleased with the way his domestic season has gone and is eager to finish on a high in order to capture the attention of the Pakistan selectors.
“This season is going well for me and I hope to finish it on a good note and to perform in such a manner that I could secure a place in [the] Pakistan team,” he told Geo News.
The Pakistan team recently took on Australia in a white-ball series and won the ODI leg 2-1 before being whitewashed 3-0 in the T20Is.
They then travelled to Zimbabwe and triumphed 2-1 in both the ODI and T20I series.
Pakistan just recently finished touring South Africa and kicked things off with a 2-0 loss in the T20I series before bouncing back to register an impressive 3-0 win in the ODIs.
In the two-Test series, the men in green were beaten 2-0.
Next up for Pakistan will be a two-Test series against the West Indies, which will be held in Karachi and Multan from January 16 to 28.
