Pakistan middle order batsman Saud Shakeel has made it clear that he is more than capable of playing “aggressive cricket”.
Shakeel has only been picked for Test cricket as of late as his last ODI came during the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. As for T20Is, the 29-year-old has yet to make his debut in that format.
Even though he has become an integral part of the Test squad, the Karachi native pointed out that if the situation of a match requires him to be more attacking, he can shift gears accordingly.
“I can play aggressive cricket as well and I like to play according to the situation of the match,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Shakeel recently featured in Pakistan’s two-Test series against South Africa, where he made 121 runs, which included a top score of 84, at an average of 30.25.
The men in green ended up losing the series 2-0.
Next up for Pakistan will be a two-Test series against the West Indies, which will take place in Karachi and Multan from January 16 to 28.
