Shan Masood: “He is our main player. We’ll make sure we look after Shaheen Afridi really well”

Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has promised to look after pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi “really well” as he is “our main player”.
Afridi has struggled to be effective with the ball on a consistent basis over the past few months, which has raised questions about his workload and form.
During the recent tour of South Africa, he showed signs of getting back to his best as he took three wickets in two T20Is at an average of 19.66.
He followed it up with seven wickets in three ODIs at an average of 23.28.
The 24-year-old was not picked for Pakistan’s two-Test series against South Africa, which the Proteas won 2-0.
Despite this, Masood knows the importance of Afridi and reiterated that the left-arm speedster will be well taken care of as the men in green need him taking plenty of wickets.
“He is our main player. We’ll make sure we look after Shaheen Afridi really well,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion.
Pakistan will now face the West Indies in a two-Test series, which will be played in Karachi and Multan from January 16 to 28.
