Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Muhammad Akhlaq said former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been working with him to improve his wicketkeeping.
Akhlaq is eager to play international cricket and is seeking all the guidance he can from Sarfaraz in a bid to make that dream come true.
The 32-year-old currently averages 30.39 in first-class cricket, 32.83 in List A cricket, and 19.63 in T20s.
Lately, he was in action in the Champions T20 Cup, where he scored 69 runs in four matches for the Dolphins at an average of 17.25.
“Yes, [Sarfaraz] is working with me, he is guiding me a lot about wicketkeeping and I’m working on it. And I am hopeful, that my experience of wicketkeeping will increase day by day. So, I am enjoying a lot working with him,” Akhlaq was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
The Pakistan team recently travelled to Australia for a limited overs series and won the ODIs 2-1 before being crushed 3-0 in the T20Is.
They then toured Zimbabwe and won both the ODI and T20I series 2-1.
Currently, the men in green are in South Africa and began by losing the T20I series 2-0 before bouncing back to whitewash the Proteas 3-0 in the ODIs.
As for the two-Test series, Pakistan are 1-0 down after losing the 1st Test in Centurion by two wickets.
The 2nd Test began on January 3 in Cape Town.
