Pakistan batsman Ali Zaryab: “I am just waiting for my turn”

Pakistan batsman Ali Zaryab is hoping that he will get an opportunity to play international cricket really soon.

Zaryab has been active on the domestic circuit and scored 2.894 runs in 44 first-class matches, which includes eight centuries and 10 fifties, at an average of 41.34.

He has also featured in five List A games and amassed 128 runs, which includes a top score of 68, at an average of 25.60.

As for his T20 career, the 26-year-old made 22 runs in one game.

Zaryab is currently in action for the Lahore Region Whites in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and has accumulated 269 runs in four matches, which includes a top score of 206 not out against Sialkot Region, at an average of 44.83.

Having impressed in the match against Sialkot Region, the Lahore-born batsman is eager to take the next step in his career and represent his country.

“I am just waiting for my turn,” he told PakPassion.

Pakistan recently toured Australia and won the ODI series 2-1 before getting battered 3-0 in the T20Is.

They then travelled to Zimbabwe and came away with a 2-1 win in both the ODI and T20I series.

As for their ongoing tour of South Africa, the men in green lost the T20Is 2-0 before fighting back to claim a 3-0 victory in the ODIs.

Pakistan and South Africa are now playing a two-Test series, which the Proteas lead 1-0 after winning the 1st Test in Centurion by two wickets.

The 2nd Test will begin on January 3 in Cape Town.
