Legendary South Africa batsman Hashim Amla said people “would pay to watch” Pakistan superstars Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi in action.
Both players have been part of Pakistan’s squad for the ongoing tour of South Africa and Amla called it “a blessing” to see Azam scoring runs and Afridi taking wickets.
In the three-match T20I series, Azam scored 31 runs in two games at an average of 15.50, while Afridi claimed three wickets at an average of 19.66.
As for the three ODIs, Azam amassed 148 runs, which included two fifties, at an average of 49.33.
Afridi, meanwhile, picked up seven wickets at an average of 23.28.
“If you are a South African, you would pay to watch Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi. It’s such a blessing for us to see Babar and Shaheen in South Africa,” Amla was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan and South Africa are now playing a two-Test series, which began on December 26 in Centurion.
In the ongoing 1st Test, Azam made four runs in the first innings and is currently unbeaten on 16 in the second innings.
