Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed: “I’ve never demanded, ‘I want to bat here or there.’ If I am given the chance to play for the national team, I will gladly accept it”

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed has admitted that he would “gladly accept” another chance to play international cricket.
Sarfaraz used to be Pakistan’s first-choice wicketkeeper-batsman until he was succeeded by current limited overs captain Mohammad Rizwan.
The 37-year-old last represented his country in December 2023, but has continued to play domestic cricket.
Even though his playing time has drastically reduced over the last few months, Sarfaraz conceded he is still eager for one more chance to play for the national team.
“I’ve never demanded, ‘I want to bat here or there.’ If I am given the chance to play for the national team, I will gladly accept it,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
The Pakistan team recently travelled to Australia for a white-ball series and triumphed 2-1 in the ODIs before being whitewashed 3-0 in the T20Is.
They then went to Zimbabwe and won both the ODI and T20I series 2-1.
Pakistan are now touring South Africa and kicked things off with a 2-0 loss in the T20I series before bouncing back to claim a 3-0 win in the ODIs.
They are now playing a two-Test series, which got underway on December 26 in Centurion.
