Pakistan seamer Hasan Ali has revealed that he was given a central contract for the 2024/25 season initially before it was revoked by the new selection committee just a few days later.
Hasan confirmed that the committee informed him about the cancellation of his contract, saying it was due to the fact he was injured.
The 30-year-old, who is recovering from an elbow injury, last played for Pakistan in May 2024.
“I received a call saying I was being given a central contract. A few days later, a new selection committee informed me that I would not be receiving it because I was injured,” he said on Samaa Digital programme Zor Ka Jor.
The Pakistan team was recently involved in a limited overs series against Australia and won the ODIs 2-1 before being crushed 3-0 in the T20Is.
They then went to Zimbabwe and registered a 2-1 win in both the ODI and T20I series.
The men in green are now touring South Africa and began in disappointing fashion as they lost the three-match T20I series 2-0 before bouncing back to whitewash the Proteas 3-0 in the ODIs.
Pakistan and South Africa will now play two Tests, with the first match beginning on December 26 in Centurion.
