Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis said Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf is “a superstar” as he takes wickets and inflicts a lot of damage on opposition teams.
His comments come after Rauf tormented Australia during a limited overs series in November 2024.
The 31-year-old began by taking 10 wickets in three ODIs, which included a five-wicket haul, at an average of 12.
He followed that up with five wickets in three T20Is at an average of 15.40.
After their tour of Australia, Pakistan headed to Zimbabwe and Rauf continued where he left off, taking three wickets in three ODIs at an average of 32.
As for the T20I series, he finished with three wickets in two games at an average of 10.
“Haris Rauf is a brilliant bowler, he’s a superstar. I told him this is the first time we have managed to hit you this summer,” Stoinis was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan are now touring South Africa and started off by losing the three-match T20I series 2-0, where Rauf went wicketless in both games he played.
The two sides are now involved in a three-match ODI series and Rauf once again failed to take a wicket in the first match, which the men in green won by three wickets.
The 2nd ODI will be held on December 19 in Cape Town.
Once the ODIs finish, Pakistan and South Africa will play two Tests, with the first match starting on December 26 in Centurion.
