Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf has not ruled out the possibility of playing Test cricket again in the future.

Rauf has featured in one Test to date, which came against England in December 2022.

The 31-year-old was supposed to play more Tests for his country after that match, but opted out of a Test series against Australia held from December 2023 to January 2024.

Rauf noted that he has to get his body accustomed to playing four-day cricket first, but insisted that he remains interested in the idea of playing Test cricket once again.

“When we’re playing 4-day cricket in Pakistan, then my body gets used to 4-day and Test cricket, so why not in the future I [may] play Test cricket for Pakistan as well,” he was quoted as saying by Grassroots Cricket on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Rauf was recently involved in Pakistan’s limited overs tour of Australia and took 10 wickets in three ODIs, which included a five-wicket haul, at an average of 12.

He then proceeded to claim five wickets in three T20Is at an average of 15.40.

Following this, Pakistan toured Zimbabwe and Rauf picked up three wickets in three ODIs at an average of 32.

As for the three-match T20I series, he finished with three wickets in two games at an average of 10.

Pakistan will now tour South Africa and play three T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests.

The T20I series will start on December 10, while the ODI and Test series will get underway on December 17 and December 26 respectively.
