Pakistan seamer Mohammad Hasnain, who recently made his international comeback, has confirmed that he wants focus on Test cricket.
Hasnain played in Pakistan’s limited overs series against Australia, taking three wickets in three ODIs at an average of 34.
However, he didn’t take part in the three-match T20I series.
At the domestic level, his form has been fabulous as in the Champions One-Day Cup, he finished as the highest wicket-taker with 17 wickets in six matches for the Panthers at an average of 16.17.
After this, the 24-year-old was in action for Pakistan Television in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) competition and ended up being the joint third-highest wicket-taker with nine wickets in four games at an average of 19.55.
Despite having enjoyed immense success in the 50-over format in domestic cricket, Hasnain is eager to impress during the four-day season and is keen to extend his outstanding run of form.
“My focus is on red-ball cricket and playing Tests for Pakistan. After this tournament, we’ve a whole four-day season ahead of us and I would like to play all the matches to be able to raise my hand for the Test squad,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Hasnain is now expected to feature in Pakistan’s white-ball series against Zimbabwe, which will consist of three ODIs and three T20Is that will be held from November 24 to December 5.
