Pakistan middle order batsman Salman Ali Agha has admitted that he initially complained about batting at number seven, but has since grown to love it.
Salman often finds himself batting with the tailenders, but has gained an immense amount of respect for being able to score big runs nonetheless.
During the recent two-Test series against Bangladesh, he scored 120 runs, which included a top score of 54, at an average of 40.
The 30-year-old had an even more impressive showing in the three-Test series against England, amassing 262 runs, which included a century and two fifties, at an average of 65.50.
“Initially I complained about batting at seven, but now I like it,” Salman told Sky Sports as quoted by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Salman was then in action in Pakistan’s white-ball series against Australia, which consisted of three ODIs and three T20Is.
He only batted once in the ODIs, scoring 12 runs, but Pakistan still ended up winning 2-1, which marked their first ODI series win in Australia since 2002.
In the T20I series, he mustered five runs at an average of 1.66.
Pakistan will now head to Zimbabwe to play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
