England head coach Brendon McCullum has applauded the Pakistan spin duo of Noman Ali and Sajid Khan for the way they bowled during the three-Test series.
Brought into the squad prior to the second Test, both players went on to have a huge impact and deliver a 2-1 series win for the men in green – their first on home soil since 2021.
Noman took 20 wickets in the second and third Tests, which included two five-wicket hauls, at an average of 13.85.
As for Sajid, he picked up 19 wickets, which also included two five-fors, at an average of 21.10.
“Credit to Pakistan, the way those two spinners bowled was superb. Noman from one end was taking pace off most of the time with the occasional fast one, and Sajid flipped that around, putting pace on with the occasional slow one. It was great partnership bowling, and our guys weren’t able to sustain the pressure, unfortunately,” McCullum was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
After the England series, the men in green travelled to Australia and played three ODIs, which they won 2-1.
Following this, the two sides faced off in a three-match T20I series, with Australia coming out on top 3-0.
Next up for Pakistan will be a limited overs tour of Zimbabwe, where they will play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
