Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood confirmed spinner Sajid Khan has earned his full trust as he showed he was willing to bleed for the team.
Sajid was one of the heroes for Pakistan during their three-Test series against England and gained an immense amount of respect for making an unbeaten 48 after getting two stitches on his chin.
While he showcased his talent with the bat, it was his brilliance with the ball that really captured everyone’s attention as he took 19 wickets in two games, which included two five-wicket hauls, at an average of 21.10.
Having seen what the 31-year-old was willing to put himself through in order to lead Pakistan to victory, Masood admitted that he showed his true character and wore his heart on his sleeve.
“At the end of the day, it’s about character – people you can trust, who can bleed for you. Sajid literally bled for us,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Thanks to Sajid, Pakistan ended up beating England 2-1, which was their first Test series win at home since 2021.
The men in green made more history during their limited overs tour of Australia as they won the ODI leg 2-1, which gave them their first ODI series victory in Australia since 2002.
However, they were unable to maintain their momentum in the three-match T20I series as they were whitewashed 3-0.
Pakistan will now travel to Zimbabwe to play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
