Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez is glad to see middle order batsman Kamran Ghulam getting a chance to play international cricket, saying he deserved to be selected.
Ghulam had an immediate impact in his Test debut during the three-match series against England as he struck a fantastic 118 in the second Test in Multan.
Overall, he finished with 147 runs at an average of 49.
Hafeez noted that the 29-year-old’s success stems from his “hard work at [the] domestic level”.
“A well deserved selection of Kamran Ghulam should get all the appreciation. His selection depict his hard work at [the] domestic level,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
After the England series, Ghulam featured in Pakistan’s limited overs tour of Australia, which consisted of three ODIs and three T20Is.
In the ODI series, he only batted once and scored five runs, but Pakistan ended up claiming a 2-1 win, which gave them their first ODI series win in Australia since 2002.
As for the T20Is, Australia whitewashed the men in green 3-0.
Pakistan’s next assignment will see them head to Zimbabwe to play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
