Pakistan superstar Babar Azam has praised middle order batsman Kamran Ghulam for making a century on debut in the recent three-Test series against England.

Ghulam made his debut in the second Test in Multan and struck a brilliant 118 in the first innings, which came off 224 balls and included 11 boundaries and a six.

Overall, the 29-year-old from Upper Dir finished with 147 runs in two matches at an average of 49.

“Well played, Kamran!” Azam said on his Instagram story as quoted by A Sports.

Azam also featured in the series against England, but only played in the first Test, where he made scores of 30 and 5.

He was subsequently removed from the side for the second and third Tests, but Pakistan still managed to claim a 2-1 win, which was their first Test series win at home since 2021.

Azam and Ghulam are now involved in Pakistan’s limited overs series against Australia, which consists of three ODIs and three T20Is.

In the first ODI, Azam scored 37 runs, while Ghulam made five as Pakistan succumbed to a two-wicket defeat.

Following their tour of Australia, Pakistan will travel to Zimbabwe to play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
