Pakistan mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed said he wants to perform better every time he plays for his country.

The 26-year-old is one of Pakistan’s go-to spinners in Test cricket, but despite having done well so far, he is refusing to be complacent.

Going forward, Abrar could find himself in a battle with Sajid Khan and Noman Ali for a place in the playing XI, especially after the recent three-Test series against England.

Abrar only featured in the first Test and went wicketless.

As for Noman and Sajid, they were picked for the second and third Tests, and finished with 20 wickets at an average of 13.85 and 19 wickets at an average of 21.10 respectively.

Despite failing to have an impact against England, Abrar is keen to keep developing his game so he can take more wickets.

“It is everybody’s aim to perform better than before, so am I,” he was quoted as saying by Samaa TV.

Pakistan ended up beating England 2-1, which gave them their first Test series win at home since 2021.

Next up for Pakistan will be a white-ball tour of Australia, where they will play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 4 to 18.

After this, the men in green will head to Zimbabwe for three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
