Renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle believes the core of Pakistan’s rebuild will centre around middle order batsman Salman Ali Agha and the pace duo of Aamer Jamal and Naseem Shah.

Bhogle noted that Salman and Jamal were the two standout players for him when Pakistan toured Australia for a three-Test series from December 2023 to January 2024.

He pointed out that the men in green need to priortise attitude during their rebuild and select players who possess the right traits to win matches and help take the team forward.

“Feels nice to see an instinct come good. When I worked on two Australia-Pakistan tests last year, the two stand out characters for me were Salman Agha and Aamer Jamal. When Pakistan do rebuild eventually on an attitude first platform, those two and Naseem Shah will be at the core,” Bhogle said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Salman, Jamal and Naseem were all involved in Pakistan’s recent three-match Test series against England.

Salman amassed 262 runs, which included a century and two fifties, at an average of 65.50.

Jamal, meanwhile, took one wicket at an average of 165 and scored 114 runs, which included a top score of 55 not out, at an average of 28.50.

As for Naseem, he only featured in the first Test and claimed two wickets at an average of 78.50.

Pakistan defeated England 2-1 to secure their first Test series win at home since 2021.

Next up for the men in green will be a limited overs tour of Australia, where they will play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 4 to 18.

Afterwards, they will travel to Zimbabwe for three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
