Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has vowed to give middle order batsman Kamran Ghulam a “long run” in the team after he made his debut in the three-Test series against England.

Ghulam kicked off his Test career with a bang, making scores of 118 and 26 in the second Test in Multan, which the men in green won by 152 runs.

The 29-year-old will obviously be looking to capitalise on his brilliant start, but should he post a few low scores, his spot in the side won’t be in any danger, according to Masood.

“He should also get a long run instead of chopping and changing,” the Pakistan skipper was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

Ghulam ended up making 147 runs in the series at an average of 49.

Pakistan went on to defeat England 2-1 and registered their first Test series win at home since 2021.

Pakistan Squad for 2nd and 3rd Tests against England: Shan Masood (captain), Saud Shakeel (vice-captain), Aamer Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Haseebullah Khan (wicketkeeper), Kamran Ghulam, Mehran Mumtaz, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Muhammad Hurraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Noman Ali, Saim Ayub, Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Zahid Mahmood.
