Tayyab Tahir: “Kamran Ghulam played a wonderful knock. Players like us have been performing in the middle order because we want to do well for Pakistan in the future”

Tayyab Tahir wants to see himself and fellow Pakistan middle order batsman Kamran Ghulam continue scoring runs as he wants to ensure they “do well for Pakistan in the future”.

Tahir has represented Pakistan in three T20Is, with all of them coming against Afghanistan in March 2023.

As for Ghulam, he has played one ODI to date, which came against New Zealand in January 2023.

He also made his Test debut in the ongoing three-match series against England and started with a bang, scoring 118 and 26 in the second Test, which Pakistan won by 152 runs.

Prior to the England series, Ghulam and Tahir both featured in the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a domestic 50-over tournament held in Faisalabad.

Ghulam finished as the second-highest run-scorer with 250 runs in six matches for the Markhors, which included two centuries, at an average of 41.66.

Tahir, meanwhile, was the third-highest run-scorer with 249 runs in five games for the Stallions, which included a hundred and a fifty, at an average of 49.80.

They were then involved in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) competition, with Tahir amassing 225 runs in four matches for Ghani Glass, which includes a century and a fifty, at an average of 75.

As for Ghulam, he played for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and made 86 runs in three games at an average of 28.66.

“Kamran Ghulam played a wonderful knock. Players like us have been performing in the middle order because we want to do well for Pakistan in the future,” Tahir was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Pakistan team recently took on Bangladesh in a two-Test series, which they lost 2-0.

Their ongoing Test series against England is tied 1-1 going into the third Test in Rawalpindi, which starts on October 24.
