Pakistan all-rounder Faheem Ashraf: “Perhaps I haven’t done justice to my own talent”

Pakistan all-rounder Faheem Ashraf has conceded that he might have not made the most of the talent he possesses.
Faheem was once the first-choice all-rounder and was regularly selected in the national team.
However, inconsistent performances saw his game time diminish and he ultimately lost his spot in the side.
Faheem, who last played for Pakistan in December 2023, noted that every cricketer’s career has “ups and downs”, but hopes that he gets another chance to prove himself at the international level.
“What is destined to happen will certainly happen; if it’s not meant to be, it won’t happen. A career has its ups and downs, and players should not lose their belief. A good performance can open all doors for you. Perhaps I haven’t done justice to my own talent,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Faheem recently featured in the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a 50-over tournament held in Faisalabad, and scored 90 runs in four games for the Dolphins at an average of 22.50.
He also had an impact with the ball, picking up seven wickets at an average of 28.14.
Currently, he is representing Pakistan TV in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) competition and has made 198 runs, which includes two fifties, at an average of 66.
He has also taken five wickets at an average of 27.
The Pakistan team recently took on Bangladesh in a two-Test series and ended up being whitewashed 2-0.
They are now involved in a three-match Test series against England and trail 1-0 after losing the first Test in Multan by an innings and 47 runs.
The second Test will start on October 15 in Multan.
