Sohaib Maqsood: “Every time I see Aamer Yamin I wonder why didn’t he get a proper white-ball Pakistan career. A proper all-rounder with double hundreds in domestic cricket. He has [the] best domestic record among all domestic all-rounders”

Pakistan big-hitting batsman Sohaib Maqsood has admitted that he can’t quite understand why all-rounder Aamer Yamin didn’t “get a proper white-ball Pakistan career”.
Yamin has represented Pakistan in four ODIs and scored 92 runs, which includes a top score of 62, at an average of 95.
He has also featured in two T20Is and scored 15 runs.
Considering the promise he showed in those few games, Maqsood feels it is unfair that the 34-year-old was not given more opportunities to prove his worth.
“Every time I see Aamer Yamin I wonder why didn’t he get a proper white-ball Pakistan career. A proper all-rounder with double hundreds in domestic cricket. He has [the] best domestic record among all domestic all-rounders,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Yamin was recently in action in the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a domestic 50-over competition that took place in Faisalabad.
In the four games he played for the Lions, he scored 84 runs at an average of 21 and took four wickets at an average of 44.50.
The Multan native is now featuring in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) tournament and has accumulated 47 runs in three matches for Oil & Gas Development Company Limited at an average of 15.66.
He has also claimed three wickets at an average of 41.33.
Yamin was not picked for Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh, which they lost 2-0.
The men in green are now facing England in a three-match Test series and trail 1-0 after losing the first Test in Multan by an innings and 47 runs.
The second Test will begin on October 15 in Multan.
