Pakistan rising star Tayyab Tahir said he wants to work on his cover drive with Babar Azam.
Many former and current cricketers believe Azam has the best cover drive out of all batsmen in international cricket as he plays it with such style and grace.
Given how good the 29-year-old is at playing the shot, Tahir is eager to pick up a few pointers from the former Pakistan captain.
“I want to work on my cover drive with him,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Tahir recently played alongside Azam for the Stallions in the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a 50-over tournament held in Faisalabad.
The 31-year-old finished as the third-highest run-scorer with 249 runs in five matches, which included a century and a fifty, at an average of 49.80.
Currently, Tahir is in action for Ghani Glass in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) competition and has made 225 runs in four games, which includes a hundred and a half-century, at an average of 75.
Tahir was not selected for Pakistan’s recent two-Test series against Bangladesh, but Azam was picked and mustered 64 runs at an average of 16.
Azam, who hails from Lahore, is now involved in Pakistan’s three-Test series against England and made scores of 30 and 5 in the first Test in Multan, which the men in green lost by an innings and 47 runs.
The second Test will get underway on October 15 in Multan.
