Pakistan pace bowler Khurram Shahzad has expressed a desire to play Test cricket as long as possible as he wants to be the driving force behind many wins for his country.

Shahzad has seen his stock rise as of late and was especially impressive during the recent two-Test series against Bangladesh as he took nine wickets at an average of 24.44.

Despite the men in green going on to lose the series 2-0, the 24-year-old is eager to be a mainstay in the Test side and keep taking wickets.

“I want to play Test cricket as long as possible and help Pakistan win as many matches as possible,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Shahzad has not been playing in the ongoing Champions One-Day Cup, which is a domestic 50-over tournament going on in Faisalabad.

Pakistan’s next assignment will be a three-match Test series against England, which is scheduled to be played from October 7 to 28.
