Iconic Pakistan batsman Younis Khan has admitted that the current batters in the team need to improve their mental strength.
He noted that it is important for them to have a “clear mind” if they are to overcome the “crisis” the men in green find themselves in right now.
Pakistan were recently whitewashed 2-0 by Bangladesh in a Test series in Rawalpindi. The home team suffered multiple batting collapses in both matches, which was a major concern.
Younis noted that the Pakistan batsmen have scored runs in the past and can do so again if they work on their mentality and overall approach.
“Our batters have got runs in the past but right now I think they need mental strengthening and a clear mind to overcome this crisis,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Many of the Pakistan players are now involved in the Champions One-Day Cup, which is a domestic 50-over competition taking place in Faisalabad.
Next up for the men in green will be a three-match Test series against England, which will take place from October 7 to 28.
