Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad has ripped into Test captain Shan Masood, saying “your own performance is nothing”.

His remarks come after Pakistan suffered a shock 2-0 loss in their Test series against Bangladesh despite playing on home soil in Rawalpindi.

Masood was unable to have much of an impact with the bat, amassing 105 runs, which included a top score of 57, at an average of 26.25.

Shehzad noted that the 34-year-old hasn’t been able to score runs consistently and accused him of “making a fool of [the] Pakistan public”.

“Your own performance is nothing. Who will listen to you? From 2020 till now, you have got three fifties. You are making a fool of [the] Pakistan public. This is your turn, show some maturity. You are not that Shan Masood of U-19 and U-16 level,” he said in a video as quoted by NDTV.

Masood will be back in action when Pakistan take on England in a three-match Test series, which is set to be played from October 7 to 28.
