Pakistan assistant coach Azhar Mahmood sees a bright future ahead for pace bowler Aamer Jamal, calling him a “fantastic prospect” who can “become one of Pakistan’s best all-rounders”.

Jamal burst onto the international scene with his awe-inspiring performance in the three-match Test series against Australia from December 2023 to January 2024.

The 28-year-old featured in all three Tests and took 18 wickets at an average of 20.44.

Jamal showed his all-round credentials by scoring 143 runs, which included a career-best knock of 82, at an average of 28.60.

“Aamer Jamal is a fantastic prospect for Pakistan. After myself and Abdul Razzaq, I think he can become one of Pakistan’s best all-rounders,” Mahmood was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Jamal did not play in Pakistan’s recent two-Test series against Bangladesh due to a back injury.

The men in green performed poorly throughout the series and ended up being whitewashed 2-0.
