Rassie van der Dussen: “A guy like him, when he’s on song, he does so much damage”

South Africa batsman Rassie van der Dussen acknowledged the amount of damage Pakistan big-hitter Fakhar Zaman can inflict when he’s firing on all cylinders.
Zaman can be unstoppable when he’s on song, but he has not been able to stay in that zone for long periods of time, which has led to him being in and out of the national team.
Most recently, the 34-year-old from Mardan featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup and could only manage 33 runs in four matches at an average of 8.25 and a strike-rate of 110.
Despite his underwhelming performance, Van der Dussen insisted it is a big mistake to underestimate Zaman.
“A guy like him, when he’s on song, he does so much damage,” the 35-year-old from Pretoria told PakPassion.
Zaman was not picked for Pakistan’s ongoing two-Test series against Bangladesh, where they find themselves trailing 1-0 after losing the first Test by 10 wickets.
The second Test started on August 30 in Rawalpindi.
