Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has praised Pakistan batsmen Shan Masood, Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan for their excellent fitness levels.

Masood captains Pakistan in Test cricket, while Zaman is a key batsman in limited overs cricket. Rizwan, meanwhile, is the country’s go-to wicketkeeper-batsman in all three formats.

Salman noted that the trio are leading the way and the other players in the squad should follow in their footsteps.

“You can look at Shan Masood, Fakhar Zaman, and Mohammad Rizwan, you look at their fitness, they have achieved good scores in the Yo-Yo tests. They are good in the gym, they run well on the field,” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

Zaman and Rizwan recently featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where the men in green were eliminated in the group stage.

Currently, Masood is captaining Pakistan in a two-match Test series against Bangladesh and made scores of 6 and 14 in the first Test, which his side lost by 10 wickets.

Rizwan is also playing in the series and scored 171 not out and 51.

As for Zaman, he was not picked in the team as he last played Test cricket in January 2019.

Pakistan will look to rebound in the second Test, which begins on August 30 in Rawalpindi.
