Bangladesh opening batsman Zakir Hasan expects to have a “tough and challenging” time in the upcoming two-Test series against Pakistan as the men in green have “world-class” fast bowlers.
Zakir will likely have to battle against Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah, who are the first-choice speedsters.
Along with those two, Pakistan have a number of other pace options, including Mohammad Ali, Mir Hamza and Aamer Jamal, whose participation in the series depends on his fitness.
“If you look at the Pakistan bowlers they have always been really good… they have world-class bowlers. So if you play Test or any format against them, it will be tough and challenging to face their pace bowlers,” Zakir told Cricbuzz.
The men in green will be determined to perform well in the Test series after their dismal showing in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where they failed to make it out of the group stage.
The two Tests will be played in Rawalpindi and Karachi from August 21 to September 3.
