Former India wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has heaped praise on Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir for his ability to swing the ball both ways and “hit the right lengths too”.

He also admitted that the 32-year-old from Gujar Khan is a “high quality” bowler as he troubles the opposition batsmen and frequently gets wickets.

Amir was recently in action for Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he took seven wickets in four matches at an average of 10.28 and an economy rate of 4.50.

“Mohammad Amir was quality, high quality. He was swinging it both ways and hit the right lengths too,” Karthik was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India in the T20 World Cup before bouncing back to beat Canada and Ireland.

However, those two victories went in vain as the men in green were knocked out in the group stage of the tournament.

Pakistan’s next assignment will be a two-match Test series against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi and Karachi from August 21 to September 3.
