Former Pakistan team director Mohammad Hafeez has called limited overs captain Babar Azam a “fantastic player”, but conceded that he still has room for improvement.
Azam has by far been Pakistan’s most consistent run-scorer in all three formats for the past few years and has, on numerous occasions, carried his side to victory.
While the 29-year-old is classed as one of the best batsmen in the world today, Hafeez doesn’t want him getting complacent and hopes to see the Lahore-born superstar keep working on his game.
“Babar is a fantastic player and can bring improvements in his game,” he told Geo News.
Azam recently led Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup and finished with 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
The men in green started off with successive losses to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to take down Canada and Ireland.
Even though they ended the group stage on a high, Pakistan failed to progress to the Super Eights.
