Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has insisted that no one complained about the behaviour of left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi during a meeting held with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

Salman’s comments come after Afridi was in the news for all the wrong reasons as it was reported that he and batting coach Mohammad Yousuf got into a heated dispute during a training session in the nets.

It is understood that Yousuf told Afridi he was consistently bowling no-balls, which allegedly irked the 24-year-old as he supposedly told the legendary batsman to “mind his business”.

Afridi was also reported to have said: “Let me practice for now and don’t talk in the middle.”

According to sources, the pace spearhead subsequently apologised to Yousuf in front of the entire team, which put an end to the dispute.

With many former players and pundits having become fixated on the controversy, Salman once again stressed that he attended a meeting with Naqvi and nothing was brought up about Afridi.

“No one complained about the behaviour of Shaheen Afridi, I was there in the meeting with PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Afridi recently represented Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup and took five wickets in four matches at an average of 21 and an economy rate of 6.56.

The men in green lost to the United States of America and India before fighting back to defeat Canada and Ireland.

Despite ending the group stage on a high, Pakistan failed to advance to the Super Eights.
