Hasan Ali: “He is the king of Pakistan’s batting line-up, and he should improve”

Pakistan pace bowler Hasan Ali has heaped praise on limited overs captain Babar Azam, calling him “the king of Pakistan’s batting line-up”.
Azam has been the men in green’s most consistent run-scorer in all three formats for years and has repeatedly won games single-handedly.
Despite how good Azam already is, Hasan admitted that the 29-year-old still has room for improvement and should constantly be looking to become a better player.
“He is the king of Pakistan’s batting line-up, and he should improve. I should improve; everyone should improve. And you can see that he has also improved. It’s not like he hasn’t done it. Wherever he has performed in batting, I don’t think he has given a bad performance anywhere, except in India in the recent World Cup, where he didn’t score a century,” he told Cricket Pakistan.
Azam recently captained Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup and amassed 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
The men in green kicked off their campaign with consecutive losses to the United States of America and India before fighting back to take down Canada and Ireland.
Even though they won those two games, it was not enough to get them into the Super Eights.
