Sarfraz Nawaz: “There should be a three-member selection committee and [merely] sacking Wahab and Abdul Razzaq would not be enough. Not even Asad Shafiq (a silent spectator) and Mohammad Yousuf are capable of delivering”

Former Pakistan speedster Sarfraz Nawaz has taken aim at former batsmen Mohammad Yousuf and Asad Shafiq for failing to deliver the required results as national selectors.
Recently, Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq were axed as selectors, but Shafiq and Yousuf kept hold of their jobs even though they were part of the same selection committee.
With the committee comprising seven people, Sarfraz wants it to be trimmed down to three members who are wholly responsible for picking the national team.
“Major surgery is required if at all we want to put the system on the right track. There should be a three-member selection committee and [merely] sacking Wahab and Abdul Razzaq would not be enough. Not even Asad Shafiq (a silent spectator) and Mohammad Yousuf are capable of delivering,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
The Pakistan team were recently in action in the 2024 T20 World Cup and lost to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to defeat Canada and Ireland.
Despite ending the group stage with a 2-2 record, the men in green failed to make it through to the Super Eights.
