Pakistan spinner Usman Qadir: “I’m practising with the bat in the nets, my focus is on power-hitting. I always do my best to perform and leave the rest in Allah’s hands”

Pakistan leg-spinner Usman Qadir is looking to transform himself into more of a batsman by working on his power-hitting.
While he is primarily known as a bowler, the 30-year-old is looking to make himself a more valuable asset by being able to contribute with runs as well.
Qadir last played for Pakistan in October 2023, but hasn’t given up on making a comeback as he is determined to capture the attention of the national selectors by continuously performing well.
“I’m practising with the bat in the nets, my focus is on power-hitting. I always do my best to perform and leave the rest in Allah’s hands,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Qadir was not part of Pakistan’s squad for the recent 2024 T20 World Cup, where the men in green lost to the United States of America and India before rebounding to take down Canada and Ireland.
Even though they triumphed in those two games, they failed to make it through to the Super Eights.
