Iconic Pakistan big-hitter Shahid Afridi has questioned why the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) only decided to remove Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq as selectors.
He noted that the selection committee was made up of seven people and admitted it is odd only those two were held accountable for the national team’s poor performances as of late.
“I have come to know about the expulsion of Wahab and Razzaq. To be honest, this kind of surgery is beyond my comprehension. The selection committee was comprised of seven members, why the surgery has been done on two?” Afridi was quoted as saying by A Sports.
The Pakistan team was recently involved in the 2024 T20 World Cup and kicked off their campaign with back-to-back losses to the United States of America and India before fighting back to take down Canada and Ireland.
Despite ending the group stage on a high, the men in green were unable to book their spot in the Super Eights.
