Legendary Pakistan batsman Younis Khan has called on fans to be patient, saying all the current players cannot be removed from the team.
The men in green have failed to get the results expected of them, especially in the recent 2024 T20 World Cup, where they were knocked out in the group stage.
Fully aware of people’s frustration, Younis stressed that changes “cannot happen overnight” and urged them to keep supporting the Pakistan team.
“The advice to the fans is to stay patient as change cannot happen overnight. We cannot just remove the current players and bring players from outside, this cannot work,” he was quoted as saying by Cricwick.
Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India in the T20 World Cup before rebounding to beat Canada and Ireland.
Despite triumphing in those two games, they failed to make it through to the Super Eights.
