Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan: “The criticism the team is facing is justified and we deserve this since we did not perform in accordance with expectations”

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan has admitted that the men in green deserve to be criticised as the team’s performances haven’t met expectations.
His comments come after Pakistan failed to make it out of the group stage in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
The men in green lost to the United States of America and India before ending their campaign with back-to-back wins against Canada and Ireland.
Rizwan pointed out that the team’s struggles cannot be blamed on one particular aspect and added that any player who can’t take criticism “will not be able to succeed”.
“The criticism the team is facing is justified and we deserve this since we did not perform in accordance with expectations. Players who cannot face criticism, will not be able to succeed,” the 32-year-old from Peshawar was quoted as saying by Cricwick.
“There are multiple reasons behind our losses. When a team loses, one cannot say that either bowling or batting is doing well.”
Rizwan was Pakistan’s second-highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup with 110 runs in four matches, which included a top score of 53 not out, at an average of 36.66 and a strike-rate of 90.90.
