Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has criticised Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan for “not performing” in the past few months.
Shadab hasn’t been able to take a wicket in international cricket since Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand in April 2024.
In the 2024 T20 World Cup, the 25-year-old from Mianwali went wicketless in four games and didn’t even bowl in the team’s matches against India and Canada.
Considering Shadab is Pakistan’s go-to spinner, Manjrekar admitted that his inability to dismiss batsmen simply isn’t good enough.
“Shadab Khan is also not performing,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
The men in green kicked off their T20 World Cup campaign with back-to-back losses to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to defeat Canada and Ireland.
However, those two triumphs went in vain as Pakistan were eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
