Yasir Hameed: “Not only him (Sajid Khan) but many others like Usman Salahuddin”

Former Pakistan cricketer Yasir Hameed is baffled as to why talented middle order batsman Usman Salahuddin has constantly been ignored by the selectors despite doing well in domestic cricket.
Salahuddin has only featured in one Test match to date, which came against England in June 2018.
Recently, the 33-year-old featured in the President’s Trophy Grade-I first-class tournament and scored 156 runs in six matches for State Bank of Pakistan, which included a top score of 50, at an average of 17.33.
He then played in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) competition and amassed 142 runs in four games, which included a top score of 88 not out, at an average of 47.33.
Hameed noted that Salahuddin is not the only player facing this predicament as others such as spinner Sajid Khan find themselves in the same boat.
“Not only him (Sajid Khan) but many others like Usman Salahuddin,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Pakistan team were recently involved in the 2024 T20 World Cup and lost to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to take down Canada and Ireland.
Despite winning their last two matches, they were eliminated in the group stage of the competition.
