Zaka Ashraf: “His batting prowess is a testament to his dedication and skill. He is a role model for the present generation”

Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf has hailed limited overs captain Babar Azam as a “role model for the present generation.”
Azam is one of the top batsmen in the world right now since he continuously scores runs in all three formats and has regularly won matches for Pakistan.
Ashraf added that the 29-year-old also possesses great “dedication and skill”, which allows him to shine at the international level.
“His batting prowess is a testament to his dedication and skill. He is a role model for the present generation,” he said in a PCB press release.
Azam recently captained Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup and finished as the team’s highest run-scorer with 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
The men in green started off with back-to-back losses to the United States of America and India before fighting back to beat Canada and Ireland.
Despite winning those two games, they ended up being knocked out in the group stage of the tournament.
