Bangladesh opening batsman Tamim Iqbal admitted that legendary Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal “is the toughest bowler I have ever faced”.

Ajmal represented Pakistan in 35 Tests and took 178 wickets at an average of 28.10.

He also featured in 113 ODIs and claimed 184 wickets at an average of 22.72.

As for his T20I career, the 46-year-old picked up 85 wickets in 64 matches at an average of 17.83.

Having faced Ajmal on various occasions, Tamim conceded that he rates the Faisalabad native very highly as he was absolutely brilliant when he had the ball in his hand.

“Saeed Ajmal is the toughest bowler I have ever faced, I rate him extremely [highly],” he was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Pakistan team recently took part in the 2024 T20 World Cup and lost to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to take down Canada and Ireland.

Despite claiming those two victories, it was not enough for the men in green to advance to the Super Eights.
