Legendary Pakistan swing king Wasim Akram has launched a verbal tirade against the national team following their disappointing 2024 T20 World Cup campaign, asking if the players need a “pacifier in their mouths”.

He noted that the men in green don’t need any enemies as they are their own worst enemy.

Wasim added that the team looked so clueless in the T20 World Cup and questioned whether “we have to explain to them what situation awareness is”.

“Pakistan ko dushman ki zarurat nahi hai, ye khudi bahut hain. Ab inke muh mein chusni daalenge kya hum. Ab inko batayenge situation awareness kya hai? Babar batayega, coach batayega (Pakistan doesn’t need an enemy, they are enough for themselves. Now should we put a pacifier in their mouths? Now we have to explain to them what situation awareness is? Babar will explain, the coach will explain),” he was quoted as saying by NDTV.

The men in green began with back-to-back losses to the United States of America and India before fighting back to take down Canada and Ireland.

Even though they ended the group stage on a high, it wasn’t enough to earn them a spot in the Super Eights.
