Pakistan spinner Imad Wasim has admitted that “drastic change” needs to take place following the team’s disastrous performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
The men in green lost to the United States of America and India before fighting back to beat Canada and Ireland.
Even though they ended the group stage with a 2-2 record, Pakistan were unable to make it through to the Super Eights.
Imad admitted that it is not his domain to speak about implementing sweeping changes, but noted that it is the only way to “move forward and fight with world cricket in the way that cricket is played now”.
“It’s not my domain but I think there need to be changes. There should be a drastic change so that we can move forward and fight with world cricket in the way that cricket is played now,” the 35-year-old was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
In the T20 World Cup, Imad took three wickets in three games at an average of 14.66 and an economy rate of four.
